With only 100 pages to go, I am hurrying to the end! I have found this an uncomfortable read. A sad and dark story, I found it difficult to 'love' the central character Herculine/Hercule, but I think the over whelming impact of his writing is the sadness and even though Reese writes beautifully, I can't get beyond that sadness!
