Too much talk about doors with little action and a very slow plot... I still don't see how this book is a fantasy 😐

Just wondering where the fantasy is in this book? The storytelling is brilliant but the story/plot seems very slow... The author does not create any expectation. I am still reading because of the way the story is being told. I would have dropped it since.
