My honeymoon with "Sex and Rage" didn't last. You could say we now have a mature relationship. The book has shortcomings; some of its habits might be annoying. Yet I can still warm to its beauties: "She wasn't like other people--all mortal and nose-blowy." And also, "...the East was the Orient, destination of Marco Polo, who returned with pasta, oranges, and firecrackers." I'd underline but this is a library copy.
