The quote I chose was "the gold in my hand so shiny, the smell of the fresh dirt from the hole it came out of." I chose this quote because I could picture what the author wrote. I knew this was imagery because I knew the senses which were, smell "the fresh dirt" and seeing "the shiny gold". I thought this was a good example of imagery.

In this scene, Jack and his butler are on a river boat which is heading back to San Fransisco. They just left the gold fields it is currently 1849 almost 1850. Jacks butler Praiseworthy just won a fight and was named he greatest fighter, There is some problems are happening on the small river boat, the boiler is using height steam, and might blow up.

My book has two main characters. First there is Jack. Jack is a young boy who wants to go to California to get money from the gold rush to save his family home. There is also Praiseworthy. Praiseworthy is Jacks butler. He is very proper and has to keep jack out of trouble.

I chose this book because it appealed to me, I've read the back and I've noticed it was the great gold rush in 1849 here in California. The book is mostly based on a butler and a young boy who snuck onto a boat and headed for California. Im looking forward to reading this book.
