Some senator tells Sitting Bull that they'd be starved and frozen to death if it wasn't for the Government.

Oh, yeah, because they had to flee to Canada since you were slaughtering the buffalos to kill the Lakotas and wage wars against the Lakotas, forcing them to escape to a deadly climate in hopes of survival.

Imagine writing about one of the most turbulent times of Native American History and making it this bland.
This reads like slimy, gray, unseasoned porridge tastes like. Sure, it gives you nutrition but you don't enjoy a single second of eating. In fact, it makes you hate food.
