sweetness and sadness of reunion

just finished section told by Markos and had my first tears of the book. I love the hope and love in his interactions with his mom

one theme I can relate to in the novel is returning home and reconciling memories with new reality

Thalia is my favorite character so far

I like the switch of narrators.

Feel joy for Pari's adult love and ache for her as she makes discoveries about her past.

Met the first character I dislike; Pari's boyfriend is vile.

the subtle rhythm of the book keeps me guessing

in the span of about 15 pages, I went from hating characters to feeling sympathy for choices to being surprised by plot twists.
