So far a well-written book that makes a diverse and complex period of political and religious history quite accessible. A couple errors, however: The author has twice referred to Rodrigo Borgia/ Alexander VI as Pope Alexander III; he also attributes the Bonfire of the Vanities directly to Savanarola's design, when in fact, it was designed and carried out by a group of his supporters.
