I do feel necessary to add that maybe, maybe the pine smell comes from keeping clothes/armor in a pine chest BUT if that is the reason why, then please mention it later. I'm so tired of men carrying random "dark and musky" scents to try and add to their appeal EVEN WHEN THE SMELLS MAKE NO SENSE

honestly they need to give practical reasons why male characters have such a myriad of personal scents mkayy like they're not walking cologne samples they're men in a world where it's sweaty under all that leather and armor and unless you catch them directly off of a bath (which unless they're rich/or the world is just good on scented soaps) they're just gonna smell neutral clean . . . THEY WON'T SMELL GREAT it's irked me for years hnggg

Well there IS a reason he smells like that. You'll see at the end of the book. No, it's not his clothing that smells like that.

well at least a reason will be given so that's all that satisfies me and y'know I've a lot of hunches about Hawke but I'm waiting to see how it all plays out ahaha
