Sungju has now declared him and his buddies a gang. He's made rules that the gang has agreed to. Young-Bum's grandmother has died. Sungju, Sangchul, and Myeongchul worked hard on the streets (performing) to give Young-Bums grandmother a proper burial.

Young-Bum and Sungju are now discussing new/better strategies to steal things from the market. The government is now telling adults that they need permits for train rides. Kids need to have there birth certificates to prove that who they are with ae really there parents. Sungju's house has been sold to new people. His belongings that was in the house has also been sold. Young-Bum thinks he won't see his granny again.

Sungju is now learning ow to steal food, because if he doesn't he will probably die from malnutrition. He is getting stealing techniques from Young-Bum. (Young-Bum is teaching him how to steal). Young-Bum and Sungju are now going to try to form a gang.

Right now Sungju Lee's parents have left to find food. His father left to find food in China , while his mother left to find food at his aunts. The boy has been living on salt and water which has made him swell up and not feel good. He is now visiting his buddy Young-Bum.

I just ended on chapter 8. Right now in the story Sungju Lee and his family are now out of rations, and are having to hunt the forests for small animals, plants, etc. Sungju has quit school and is trading in his school books to the market, and lots of kids are now dying.

So far I'm on chapter 3, and it feels like this story has lot's of good cliff-hangars. I'm really enjoying it right now, and I'm actually on a part that's left me wondering what's gonna happen?

So far what I've read is very interesting. I enjoy how it's talking about the differences of North Korea and South Korea. I can already tell this book is really going to be good.. because I feel like the boy's gonna fight for North Korea, but is gonna quickly wish he hadn't.
