Katniss is cold. She has a hard past and future. She tries to hide how she feels her pain and fear. She goes cold, she hides by showing no fear no joy she shows nothing. Phrases like "I still wake up screaming for him to run" and her thoughts on the Capital such as saying "District 12 were you can starve in safety" show this as she mumbles or hides these dark thoughts.
