Finished Bend Sinister. Interesting aspects, but not quite there. I found the examining of perspectives by the authorial voice interesting but I am not sure what was gained in the end. The plot was wafer thin but quite brutal and affecting in places, and the characters were archetypal in a strange not quite platonic way. I feel I have missed something.

Finished Sebastian Knight which was superb. Beautifully written and poignant fake bio. Part Pierre Menard, part falsified lit crit, but of books that I wished existed.
