The greatest stories by composers are not always in their music but in their everyday life. Having such a detailed account of Prokofiev’s teen years in Russian Conservatory is remarkable in itself. So refreshing to hear that one of 20th century’s greatest composers was, at one point, more concerned about chess and impressing one of the girls in class. Curious to see his growth from here on out.
