Once again I’m having trouble with Anderson’s depiction of a woman of color. I feel that Lucia reads more as a white woman’s depiction of a Latinx woman compared to an actual Latinx woman. I love Anderson’s attempts at including diverse characters in her writing. I truly wish she would step outside of her comfort zone and bring in a ghost writer for her diverse characters.
