I'm loving the ride by now and even Mel's family has demonstrated another dimension. I'm certain of the culprit, with likely assistants or Juliet is leading us astray well.

Much more like it. We returned to the story's house, we're examining clues. This is the quest feel I want. I wish it hadn't taken to page 172 but I have enjoyed the novel all along. It hasn't dragged; I just wanted my mysterious atmosphere.

The artifact is a very worthy find, which reward us with suspense and interest. I hope exploring this and the neighbour's house (taking a while to get there), give us that oomph of eeriness or excitment. I predict a secret tunnel and THAT'S the stuff I'm talking about. Too much % has been about 'Mel's' business and family.

There's no scary feel about the house nor the ghost present so far. Talking with a ghost is too matter-of-fact in the already rare books that do contain them. But we haven't returned to the house since the intro and something *is* hidden there.

Not a very haunted book but we're getting there. Nice surprise, this isn't a 'cozy' type, which the cover has people thinking. There is a gory death. But I love Juliet and a blunt mystery.
