I laughed, I cried, I tsk'd, I thoroughly enjoyed and was enthralled the storytelling of rural postwar Poland. I wish I had the right words to convey how the author used Szymek's ramblings to journey from topic to topic without the use of chapters. Brilliant translation. This would be one of my books I'd hope to have if stranded on a desert island.
