This is gonna be a DNF for me. Between the awkwardness of the humor and the British character's voice and the hokeyness of the idea, I think this is a no-go. Excited to get back to The Fifth Season though.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Conor. I was excited to give this a go when it came out but your short review and what I’ve heard from others has convinced me it’s not worth picking up. I’ll have to check out The Fifth Season!

I’ll have..."Maybe it was just the audiobook that did it for me but it felt like I was listening to a bad superhero flick. The attempt at South London vernacular in particular made me repeatedly cringe as an American so I feel like it would not go over well with Brits, either :)
