Jake wasn't looking to be a dad ever, his childhood was horrible and he didn't want to have to raise a child in fear of being a horrible dad his self. So, when his sister and brother in-law die and he's thrown into parenthood via his niece and nephew he has no clue what he's doing. He even inlists his best friend from child hood to help him out. She's a doctor to boot, but one problem, they're falling for each other.

Books winding down now. Jake just signed up for night school that help him get his GED. He wants to turn the ranch into a special needs ranch that caters to kids and families of special needs like his niece Kayla. He wants Maggie to stay, and i know she will by end, but not sure how yet. Jake is doing a lot better with the kids he's turning into a great dad for his niece nephew. He even got them a puppy.
