I am increasingly frustrated with Bryan. The author has turned him into a conflicted character, chasing a woman who has repeatedly told him that she is married and cannot fall in love with Bryan. For all that Bryan has gone through, he has become so reluctant and weak-minded. I don't think the author is being true to Bryan's character. Also, the author has lost the focus on the flying aspects of the story. Too bad.

This third book in the series opens with Bryan on an aircraft carrier experiencing seasickness on the open ocean on his way to his new posting, Malta. I think the author makes him sick because it shows the human weakness he is experiencing after book two when he has his breakdown. This shows he is not yet over his loss of love and his second best friend killed in the war.
