I just don't understand the apathetic adults. Like, in some ways they are said to have caring parents and attentive family, but Dr. Gregorian sends them into danger without hesitation. It's a little odd for me, and unrealistic. When I first read the descriptions, I expected the main characters to be orphans.

This really has too much going on all at the same time. And the adults in the past suck just as much as the adults in the present.

I forgot how long this takes to get started.
Once again, I'm shocked by how irresponsible the adults are in this story. It's similar to The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles in the fact that the parents are just okay with the kids going off with the curator all the time, but worse because it's set in modern times, where security and threats are taken a lot more seriously. I don't like it.

I find it a little hard to believe that these modern eleven year old kids are able to walk around one of the most heavily guarded cities in the country, sneak into the Smithsonian TWICE, and have all these adult freedoms in 2020. I also question Dr. G.'s choices in the way he approaches things with them, full disclosure. Still, I'm excited to see what happens.
