I'll be honest, I purchased this book because I named my daughter, Oksana, and my name is Maria (like the author)However; I was a little disappointed in the story. I'm tired of Ukrainians (which I am) viewed negatively every time they are mentioned.Oksana's parents, and Baba, are verbally abusive,and disconnected.Oksana travels as a young girl from Ukraine to America, and her adventures with her parents & Baba.
