I don't know if I've ever seen a book crash into fail so hard or fast. Don't know if I'll bother to finish this; how could it redeem itself now?

Alison Diem Wow- already this terrible and it's only page 64!?!?!?! Disappointing.

Erin (PT) It's incredibly disappointing. The writing is excellent but the race and gender fail is massive.

Jim Not sure how you can perceive this as being racist, he's not trying to portray the Krasians negatively, rather showing a cultural difference in the way of their thinking, I suppose because he's based them (unimaginatively) on the Arabic culture and because westerners generally despise Arabs, you've assumed that the author has some deep seated prejudice against Arabs. Often the other races are shown in a less glorified light than the Krasians. As for misogyny it's clearly present in all the societies but that's because the world is medieval, and that was how women were typically viewed in those times. Does that make the author a misogynist? Just because he made the characters doesn't mean he shares their beliefs, try and differentiate that. As for the writing, this book is terrible.
