I've always loved the California Missions, and have especially loved visiting San Juan Bautista. I remember the Indian artifacts and stories, but now I'm just disgusted. Knowing the history behind the colonization of California by the "Spanish," makes me think of the California Missions as being a hazy painting of what the Franciscan Priests would have liked the Missions to represent, not the cold hard truth.
