I’m not one to give up.... but this book is just not good.... I’m trying to get through it but am ready to throw in the towel. If it doesn’t get better by the 50% mark, this will get added to my very small DNF list.

Ah no! I've DNFed many audiobooks for this very reason! The narrator has to be good!
Hate when this happens. Happened to me with a John Marrs recently. Read the Kindle instead and loved it.
