The mind is what the brain does. The mind cannot exist without the brain. If "the soul" is mind, then the soul does not exist.

The brain produces the mind (consciousness). The idea that a soul does so is very, very sketchy.

The claim that souls exist is a scientific claim that must provide the burden of evidence to support that claim. If you've got shoes, get walking.
