I haven't read that series but it seems kind of similar in the sense that it's adult romance/urban fantasy. This series is about a community of fantasy creatures so you have vampires, fairies, werewolves, elves, goblins, witches, etc. There's also crime and mystery thrown into the mix because the MC is a crime investigator. It's free on amazon so I recommend checking it out.
