I’ve read several books on Ty Cobb: the presumptive, reigning asshole of Major League Baseball. Bonds may incarnate the same spirit. It was hubris that killed this beast.

In some ways, according to this book, Bonds may be worse. While Cobb had a few infamous moments in his life (which some have argued had been exaggerated or downright false), Bonds was a dick to about 90 % of the people he encountered.
