Notes:
(1) Every Deadly Class book is named after a 1980s punk song/album, here’s this one: https://youtu.be/yJM576_1UX4
(2) Finally, a new volume. I was getting antsy. Corona delayed this for months!
(3) I wonder whether they'll address the TV series being cancelled. I read the last book in individual issues, and boy were the letters pages dominated by TV show talk.

Notes:
(1) After a slow first two issues, the third one was exactly the kind of character driven narrative I've come to expect from this series.
(2) The idea of a ski lodge party is so 1980s cliché. I love it!
(3) The fourth issue felt rushed and out of nowhere. Fight-for-your-life survival plots are what this series is known for, but were built up better in previous books.

Notes:
(1) I don't know quite what to make of this. The first issue was nearly all blood and guts action. The second was slow and talky. I hope there's a few character-building issues. Those are always the best.
(2) I wonder whether this book starts out so weird because Remender was depressed over the TV show being cancelled? The letters pages seem all about his depression.

Well, I'm a bit biased because it's currently my favorite comic series. I will acknowledge that it's the sort of series that can be very polarizing. People will either not get it or they'll love it. I'm obviously in the latter camp since I've made it to Volume 9.
I'd say give it a shot if you're curious. I will qualify that by saying if you're easily triggered or squeamish at all about violence or drug humor or gross-out humor or things along those lines, it may not be for you. But, if you're fine with that, I'd certainly recommend giving it a try. Especially if you enjoy the 1980s. This is 1980s to its core, from the art style to the pop culture references to the titles of the books.
I'd even go as far to say that if you're lukewarm about the first few volumes, it pays off in a big way in Volume 4, and would be worth sticking around for. I hope that helps :)
