Peter was able to successfully move the Jews that night, but after leaving that night with The Rosens and others to get them to safety, Mrs. Johansen trips and hers her ankle on her way home. When Annemarie finds her, they both realize that Peter dropped the packet that was meant for Uncle Hendrick. With time ticking, Annemarie is forced to risk herself to deliver the packet and help get everyone to safety.

With the invasion of the Nazis, Annemaries mother decided to take her, her sister, and Ellen away to her brothers house to hide. Once there, the girls explored outside on the coast by the water, and talked about how the world as they knew was gone. Ellen’s parents ended up at Mrs. Johansons brothers house, and together along with the help of others, they all worked to get them away and hide them from the Nazis.

As the Nazis slowly start moving into Denmark, Annemarie, Ellen, and their families find themselves searching for safety and a new normal.
