Lowboy is on the B train going somewhere- anywhere. Everyone on the train was watching him so, he turns around and says that he's William of orange and that he wants a cigarette. He ends up talking to an old man about religion. He was on the train because he was given a calling. I want to know what calling he's talking about. What is a calling?

I just started reading this book today. It's about a sixteen-year-old paranoid schizophrenic who believes the world is being destroyed by climate change and he thinks he can sto it. It's pretty good so far though, i didn't read much. I think that the main character is going to go crazy and do something wrong.
