Me: Harry always lies, and it never helps him.

Methinks upon rereading that it is a bit unbelievable that Dumbledore, who is supposed to be the smartest wizard of the Age, couldn't figure out what dark creature was loose in the school and then trace it back to its lair.

Why don’t Hermoine, Ron, and Harry just owl order the necessary potion ingredients from an apothecary?

Dumbledore: It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
