Sigh. I get needing to have interpersonal conflict but I am really hating the relationship between Christine de Pizan and her mother and I particularly hate that it's all "Christine learnt how to be a feminist from her father while her mother is a walking, talking cliche of internalised misogyny trying to push her daughter back into place".
