This book takes place in England on a farm durning an unknown time. This story is told chronologically and is a third person omniscient narrator. Animals want to rebel against the humans after they were nearly whipped and were forced to stop eating. One main character, Napoleon, a boar, tries to manipulate other animals and wants to rule the farm. He fights against his opposite character Snowball, also a boar.

One symbolic archetype in this book is good vs evil. The good, in the animals’ opinions, are themselves, and the evil are humans also known as the two legged. This is stated many times throughout the book. The most prominent way shown is through their simple chant of “Four legs good, two legs bad.” Secondly, their seven commandments also states all animals are equal, two legs are bad, and four legs are good!

One connection I made was between this book and Christianity. In the book, the Seven Commandments were made so all animals would understand their relationship with humans. In Christianity, they have the Ten Commandments which was written laws for the Israelites.
