Holy, this book is an eye opener. We've seen a million movies about the allied side of the conflict, and it's easy to think about the enemy as those Krauts etc...but they were people too, trying to defend what they saw as a united Europe. This book gives you an idea what it was like to be there...

You know, during my time in the army, I got to read historical reports from the beaches. Its amazing what tv and movies never show
