Its pretty sad that Chris was this close to walking back to civilization. Its unfortunate that he couldnt see into the future, and realize that he would die if he returned to the wilderness. Although I still really dont like Chris as a character, I still think it unfortunate that he dies on his journey, and wish that he had been able to cross the river and been able to go back to civilization.

I HATE Alex/Chris. He was given so much and chose to spite those who gave it to him. The chapter that talked above all his natural athletic ability was the one that really made me dislike him. The fact that he was so opposed to perfecting anything, and stubborn enough to believe that HIS raw ability and talent was enough to get him through any situation is ultimately was led to his death in the alaskan wilderness.
