The point of view that is told in my book is first person. It helps me gain insight and strengthens my understanding of the book because it lets me know how Charlie is really feeling, and the experiences he goes through. A specific detail of this is when Charlie sees his sisters boyfriend hit her and it shows how upset he got because of it. If it wasn't in first person you wouldn't be able to know that.
