Meh. I had high hopes for this book, but so far I feel like the analysis of the deeply rooted cultural factors that have led to the breakdown of the African-American family is too surface and too quick to leap to pat answers. There has to be a space for wrestling with the realities as they are, not glossing over issues with Redemption talk. Salvation is worked out in real time and space.
