I’m sorry but all this sowing and plowing and “having spent my coin in her purse three times” are the funniest euphemisms ever, I just can’t take it seriously 😂

Wow, the court martial chapter was incredible! I’ve always been a sucker for court room drama/interogation scripts so this was right up my alley.

This young prince is kind of intolerable.

This is very interesting, very anthroplogical. The ritualized euthanasia and grief over elderly to make room for the young made me think of the STTNG episode “Half a Life”, one of the best and also toughest eps I’ve seen.

Allison Hurd 😬 please don't put money in that purse! That is not for coins! haha!

Dawn F I can never think of purses any other way now, hahaha!

Allison Hurd GDI now I'm picturing female condoms as purse liners.

Gabi Calculating Stars still is at the top of my personal list of cringeworthy sex scene writing.

Dawn F @Elowen It’s rather off putting, yes 😆

Dawn F @Allison You just had to share, didn’t you??

Mareike Asdguhdfiguh, what?

Dawn F Yes, it includes various versions of “The many princes plowed her [the Queen], but there was no harvest.” Or “Well plowed”. Or “..they’ll have to do without my singing and sowing.” 😄 I understand, though, that that’s the way they talk about sex, there’s no intimacy in it at all, sex it literally just a duty among a people who have trouble getting pregnant, so that’s why they have this unemotional, euphemistic language around it. They don’t express love either, everything is ritualized and formalized so they (so far) don’t say much of anything outright, it’s all covered up on phrases and expressions. I just found it incredibly funny in the middle of this otherwise sombre atmosphere 😄

Dawn F @Gabi TRUE! That was even worse because she was trying to be funny!

Oh yeah, in that context it makes sense. But it still sounds so absurd.
