I always manage to tear up at every HP finale so far. While this book is a little more flawed than the previous entry, it is the step in the right direction that the series should go. Still a fantastic entry and I am anticipating reading the next. entry... whenever that may be.

Got to the finale, slightly disappointed it got resolved with a near deus ex machina - but it was still a great battle. It's just odd because of all the things that were set up and paid off, this was the weakest of them.

I am impressed with Rowling's ability to meticulously plot everything with great payoff. Maybe a slight fumbling here, but I have no doubt later entries improve upon this.

This book really does pick up in the second half. It's great for completely different reasons from the first: the first was great for introducing the world and just having a sense of fun throughout without there being a plot until the end, while the second is almost an entirely well crafted plot.

Only if I could read the rest of the series without being bogged down by work :(

Oh so that's what they meant when they said the last act is great because DAMN. I audibly gasped when that line of chapter 13 hit.

The ending is about to get me HYPED

Was on track on finishing it today (four days left of break, 25% each day) but got sidetracked. Really hope school doesn't come in the way of me enjoying this book (but online classes shouldn't be too hard).

Will try to power through and get to that last act that supposedly brings this book up to another level.

Not as close to the greatness of the first but still really good (which I assume is not a very popular opinion).

No complaints so far except when comparing it to the first.

The quality SHOOTS up once they get to Hogwarts. Not sure if it's my expectations or just Rowling rushing to get to the good parts, but whatever, I'm enjoying reading the book now almost as much as before.

IT'S HAPPENING.

Honestly, liking it a lot less than the first (because the opening chapters of the first book were amazing so maybe not a fair comparison). Feels like just a bunch of plot getting out of the way but once the first act finishes up everything should pick up in quality.

Still I am very much hyped for what's next
