Louisa came on her monthly food drop where she gives mom food from the nursing home where she works. She brings the leftovers from lunch. Once a month mom goes to the jail and talks to the pregnant women in jail about what to expect when they have their babies. Mom gives the leftovers to the women and they think she is some kind of saint for doing this for them.

On the first note, M was just written on it. But on the second note Miranda's whole name was written out on it. The worst part of the note is when the anonymous person wrote "I will not be myself when I reach you." After a long time she finally put the notes away and tried to forget about them.

There was no school the Friday after Thanksgiving but mom still had to go to work. Miranda has been trying not to think about the notes but she can't get them off her mind. She held one in each hand and kept reading them over and over again. She was worried about the parts where it said "I'm coming to save your friend's life and oh by the where do you keep your keys? And p.s. don't ever tell anyone of this."

I'm predicting that this anonymous person is going to be her dad or an old friend or maybe a relative. This book is literally leaving me on the edge of my seat. They seem to make it seem like it is going to be someone special but I am predicting that its going to be someone out of the blue. Once again, who is this anonymous character/ note sender?

I am waiting to see what this anonymous note sender is going to do and when and how and where he is going to do it. It's crazy how this unknown person gets the notes in these crazy private places without getting caught. I also want to find out why it is going to be a difficult trip over and why he won be the same. I can't wait to find out what happens because at the time I'm very confused. Who is he?

The second note says " Miranda, Your letter must tell a story -a true story. You cannot begin now, as most of it has not yet taken place. And even afterward, there is no hurry. But do not wait so long that your memory fades. I require as much detail as you can provide. The trip is a difficult one, and I must ask my favors while my mind is sound. P.S. I ask you do not share this with the others"

When Miranda got home from school their apartment door was unlocked and she ran down to Sal's to tell him. Then she finds THE FIRST NOTE. It says, "M, This is hard. Harder than I expected, even with your help. But I have been practicing, and my preparations go well. I am coming to save your friend's life and my own. I ask two favors. First, you must write me a letter. Second, please remember to mention the location

The kid who punched Sal turns out to go to Lucy's school and isn't mean but very smart and she finds that out when she is helping out at the school dentist and had to go get him out of class. When she walked into the class and she said his name and he stood up.He brought his book and it turned out Lucy had read the same one and they had a good conversation about it.

Mom is getting really good at the speed round. Her record is seven words in thirty seconds. The second round is the Winner's circle. For example, "tulip, daisy, rose, the contestant would say types of flowers." Mom has been practicing for the whole book now and I can't wait until she competes!
