It's not like I really want someone to die at the very beginning of the story, but for a crime/mystery thriller, the momentum of this book is more or less flat right now. There's much more set-up than there is action, and I'm getting restless waiting for the actual murder mystery to begin, and until it does, I'm going to be a bit irritated.

I tire of unnecessary descriptions in this novel. I'm debating going back and counting how many times we describe Ashley as strong or beautiful and then count that against the many times she didn't seem very strong at all.

I have the distinct feeling that I'm not going to like Ashley at all. As far as supposedly "strong" heroines go, I'm not seeing it and it frustrates me.
