Henry David Thoreau spends lot of time waxing philosophy on the disconnect of man, in pursuit of luxury and humble-brags his spin-thrift ways. It’s interesting on his ideas of trying to attain “awakened” by living in the moment only to wildly shift to lamenting the ignorant masses who only read for entertainment and not the “classics.” He’s really up his own ass and kinda a smug bastard.
