The main conflict in this book is that Poseiden and Zues are fighting over the deadliest weapon in the world the lightning bolt and the three main gods arent supposed to have kids but posiden had kids to try and find the lighting bolt because he knows that he is being framed to cause a war and he needs to find it to prevent the war so now percy is on a quest to the underworld to find the bolt.
