The climax starts of in a forest in a magical realm. Max the main character is being hunted down by Robo-princess. The unicorn has never been this close to finding Max and The Codex of Infinite Knowability. The scene has lots of tension as the unicorn is right on Max’s tail. Finally Max dives into a bush and the unicorn doesn’t find him. This answers the question will the unicorn find Max and will humanity be saved.

The novel Bad Unicorn has multiple archetypes. First it is a voyage plot because Max Spencer, the main character, travels to another realm full of mysterious and dangerous creatures. This voyage leads to becoming a overcoming the monster plot because in order to to save the human race Max has to defeat the bloodthirsty unicorn.

The Bad Unicorn is a comical high fantasy novel. There are many hints of high fantasy throughout the book. For example there are many different realms and other mystical creatures and beings. Other parts of the books also include low fantasy because the story revolves around a boy on earth. It also included a bit of dark fantasy because the evil unicorn is trying to kill the young boy.

I choose this book in my brothers library. The reason I choose this book is because the spine caught my eye, the vibrant colors drew attention to the book and the name was very interesting too. At the beginning of the novel it was a little confusing with all the realms but then it starts to set in and I understood most of the fantasy.
