When one thinks of murderers, one does not conceive them as human beings. They have no past, no history, as though the were born being adults and being violent. Finding out about their motives, their feelings or mental struggles/processes, one comes to humanise a killer. Not a good person but not a bad one either like everyone else. Is it bad that I feel sorry for Dick and Perry just as much as I do for the Clutters?

Already about to be punished. Dead penalty. And I'm sad and sorry. Though I know I shouldn't really be, but that's according to morals applying only to killers with no heart and no shame and no humanity. Oh, but are there even people like that in the world? Certainly, Perry and Dick ARE human. So, whatever, I feel sorry, I'm quite fond of them and I know I'm entitled to feeling this way about them. So that's that.

Outstanding prose. Thrilling. Addictive. Loving the semi-romance between the two murderers. Lol

Incredible, breath-taking narrative. Can't stop reading it -I only do so to dedicate myself to chores and the reading of another book assigned by one of my classes (a rather poor book). I'm truly loving the story and the narrative. There's no detail, paragraph or sentence in this book that doesn't interest me. And I am almost sorry to say I "ship" Perry and Dick as hard as I can. So, sorry. :)

Ended up opting for reading the English original version first. I do not have any kind of regrets. Love this prose.
