Mr. Mitch is telling Chika the story about how she ended up in America and then she asked how she died. Chika got tested and scanned, when in America, and they found out she had a stage 4 tumor with 4 months to live. The doctor’s advice was to go back to Haiti until she passed away, but instead, Mitch wanted to fight.

Mitch expresses the reason to Chika on why he had kids. It was his father that made him want to. Being around his father made him feel safe and loved and he wanted to have children because of that. Mitch also told about how he went to Haiti for New Years and the girls would leave a spot for Chika because they always expected her return.

Chika wanted to know what brought her to America and why she was taken to live here. She found out that it was because of a medical issue that could not be taken care of in Haiti. Mitch brought Chika to America to give her a better chance and life and health. Mitch grew very close to Chika and that’s why she ended up staying.

Mitch adopted Chika after she was brought to his orphanage. Chika died but still continues to visit Mitch and talk to him. I don’t know how, yet. Chika was brought to Mitch’s orphanage because her mother died while giving birth to her brother. She was brought there by one of her mother’s friends who was unable to care for Chika like she needed to.
