Almost at the end of the Combray section. Will I persevere? There are times when I shudder at the approach of another church interior, or another stand of flowers. (Those passages put my French to pretty hard use.) Can still see the structural brilliance, but it's a long game Proust is playing, and I'm not sure I have the stamina for it all. (Plus he's not a remotely lovable authorial voice.)
