i think he was never really in love with his wife. he wasnt sad after the city was bombed. i didnt like this book. it was quite boring.

One thing i fing interesting is that the main character Guy is a fireman. He isn't your ordinary fireman that everyone thinks of on an everyday basis. He starts the fires. For some reason he burns books and for some reason its illegal to read the books he is burning.
