I can only handle this book (Sedaris too, probably) in small doses. It's exhausting. One second I'm laughing (as he likes to make himself the butt of his own jokes) and the next I'm bruised by how he catches me off guard with painful truths highlighting the human condition. I'll keep reading, as I feel myself to be more illuminated with every page, however uncomfortable it might be.
