Gene had time with Leper in Leper's house. When Gene asked about spies that they were connected with him, Leper was shouting 'I escaped!', 'I escaped!' This part was weird because it looked like he is having trauma and suffering from past memory.

After Finny got hurt by falling off from the tree, he opened the Winter Carnival. It was a completely enjoyable thing for students. I think Finny recognized that students are all depressed and tired because of the war and the school is getting even stricter and enforced.

I am still thinking about that is Finny actually knew that the person who pushed him off the tree was Gene. I still didn't understand that if Finny knew that Gene pushed him off the tree, then their friendship will be not good anymore and can't recover the trust anymore. However, I was confused about the part that Finny was supporting Gene that he can train for the Olympics.

Gene is the student who is good at everything. He was decent in sports and perfect in academics. I think almost every student envy him because he is just good at everything. He can be the one who indirectly made Finny jumped off the tree.

Finny jumped off from the tree and completely broke his leg. He couldn't move and walk. When he was not on the school, Gene found out that he misses Finny and he wants to see him.

In this story, there are two friends who shows almost the opposite ways of each other. The students call Eugene and Phinneas. Eugene was really smart but he was a bit anti-social. However, Phinneas was really athletic and social. This story was relating it to me because the story was based on the boarding school called Devon school like secondary school.
