The conflict in the book I am reading, is a conflict of the characters versus the society they live in. The dog is taken in to a family, but it seems like almost everyone is out to get them. Multiple people successfully take the dog, Bella to the pound and almost get her destroyed. The dog's owner only has a few friends that help him keep his dog safe.

Around page 69, the book takes a turning point, as an anonymous tip rats Lucas, an his dog Bella out, as they live in a no dogs apartment. I definitely think something will happen because of this, as either they have to move or get rid of a dog. Depending on what happens, it will define if Lucas cares for his mother or dog more. This shouldn't develop the conflict, as it is between a contractor and Lucas.

The dog is born into a small crawlspace under a condemned house, so the location is not very clear. the space is full of cats, kittens, and his dog family. The time period is present day, as we see and hear about the house being demolished to build an apartment complex, and animal control is referenced.
